Welcome to Tempe Rising Indivisible’s First Meet & Greet!

Tuesday, 4/22/2025, 6:00pm–8:00pm MST

Thank you so much for being a part of our very first Meet & Greet. Here’s a quick recap of the numbers:

  • 76 people signed up
  • 48 did not confirm
  • 21 confirmed attendance
  • 7 canceled

This was a private, indoor event—and moving forward, all indoor events will be capped. It’s essential to confirm your RSVP if you plan to attend, so we can prepare accordingly. Not knowing whether an additional 48 people might show up made it tough for both the venue owner and myself to plan effectively.

📅 Our next Meet & Greet is on May 7 and will be capped at 35 attendees.
📍 The sign-up link will be shared on the Tempe Rising Facebook page and emailed to those who signed up for this event. It will not be posted publicly on Mobilize. Please confirm if you plan to attend!

Weekly Brainstorming Sessions 🧠 Every Thursday at 7 PM, we host virtual brainstorming meetings.
🌐 Follow our Linktree by scanning the QR code labeled “Join Tempe Rising” for all our updates—including protest info, our online store, YouTube channel (with past event videos), election resources, and ethical shopping guides.

🛑 We’re launching a Rapid Response Team—when news breaks, we act fast and organize protests.

👕 We’re also starting a Tempe Rising T-shirt Movement! Every Saturday, we’ll wear our shirts—either yellow (a fan favorite) or turquoise (to be voted on). This creates a sense of unity, especially for those who can’t attend in-person events but still want to show support. This can be a Tempe Rising T-shirt or your own shirt.  It’s all about the color.

💛 Bonus: Wear your Tempe Rising t-shirt to a Tempe Rising business partner location and get a discount! I’ll be meeting with these businesses again tomorrow. If you own a business or know someone who might want to join, let me know! Participating businesses will be listed in our newsletter for free.

Your Homework: Help Us Grow We’re looking for more pro-democracy businesses in LD12. If you know of any, email me with ones you’re 90% sure support democracy. Here’s how I do it: I walk into local shops wearing my Harris T-shirt and ask if they’d be willing to display a flyer for our May 1st Pro-Democracy Rally. I’ll be sending out a flyer attachment you can print and share. You will know if they are pro-democracy biz by their response.

🚗 We’re also organizing carpools for May 1. This rally at the Capitol will be huge—we’ve got 42 organizations working together! We will meet at Brick Road Coffee. An email will be sent out.

About Tempe Rising Indivisible We began with the Tempe Tesla protests. After seeing the passion people had to get involved, I started a chapter. My vision is to create a pro-democracy home for everyone—a space where your voice matters, your skills shine, and your impact grows.

How Can You Contribute? You might be a poster-maker, a postcard writer, a knitter, a protester or someone who just loves to chat over coffee. Whether you’re into yoga, tai chi, or organizing, there’s a place for you here. Better yet—you could lead your own subgroup within Tempe Rising! See me if interested.

💬 Icebreaker time:
What’s one skill or talent you have that might surprise the group—and how could it be useful in activism?
